Dear Parents,
This
was a sad day because we bid farewell to our chicks. They were getting so big and flying around the pen. It was only a matter of days before
they cleared the top. What a
wonderful experience for all of us.
WeÕve
been finishing up our writing about feelings this week. You will be amazed at your daughterÕs
progress when you get to see her portfolio for the entire year.
In
math the girls did further exploration with polydrons. They had to devise two or three nets
(one-dimensional blueprints) for cubic boxes for jewelry. The girls have thoroughly enjoyed the
geometry unit with polydrons and have created the most amazing structures with
them. Some pictures of their work
will appear in the photo album on the Kindergarten web page.
If
you have not sent in a large shopping bag for your daughterÕs end of the year
clean out, please do. We will be
collecting all the leftover bits next week. The bulbs area coming home today and we hope you will plant
them in your yard so your daughter can discover which gladiola bulb she
chose. It was a blind selection
between three different kinds of bulbs.
DonÕt
forget that Prize Day is June 2nd. The girls are to wear party dresses and someone must be
present to take them home when the ceremonies conclude.
Our
class party is now Wednesday, May 28th. The girls should come to school in play clothes and shoes
they can run in. No flip flops or
high heels, please. Our wonderfully organized room mothers
have already gotten an email to you.
It promises to be a wonderful event. Many thanks to everyone involved.
The
weekend is supposed to be sunny and beautiful. Have a wonderful break.
Sincerely,
Ms. Ramsey and Ms.
Echternacht
